Cucumber Raita (Yogurt)

Raita is my favorite condiment, specially when accompanied with Aloo ka parantha (Indian stuffed bread). It is easy to make, refreshing, and healthy if you leave out sour cream.

Here is the recipe.

1. 375g of no fat Plain yogurt
2. 2 tablespoons sour cream
3. 1 teaspoon rock salt (kala namak)
4. 1/2 teaspoon table salt
5. 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
6. 2 teaspoons cumin powder
7. 1/2 cucumber, shredded.

Put everything together and mix with a beater. Serve chilled.

Believe me it tastes grrreat!!

Varunavi, I love rock salt. I would suck on it as a kid!!
Sia, do you add grated mint in it? Would love to see the recipe.
OK Trupti, I will look into that. Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks, MizzJ. I wasn't quite satisfied with the previous pic. It didn't do justice to the taste. I took another click my raita. Hopefully this one looks better.
